A brief project(ed detour)


Hi Reader,

I've taken on a little project to write a whitepaper, Bringing Humanity to Tech Support.

But when am I going to write this thing? The only real time I have to write is when I sit down to write to you every week.

So... I'm going to do it here.

I realize tech support doesn't seem like what I usually write about. The reason for that is because it totally isn't what I usually write about.

Well, sort of. As with so many things I write about, there's some nuance here.

If you take a peek at my recently updated website, you'll notice I say "I do three things." Tech support is one of them.

And tech support, when it's only informational (that is, when it has no humanity), is awful. Just awful.

Hence, Bringing Humanity (or coming home) to Tech Support.

See, what I'm aiming for is that everything I do ties back to coming home, and that's what the newsletter is about. So, yeah, not generally a tech support newsletter. But for now it is.

I don't think this little project will have a drastically different flavor. Still, if you want to temporarily opt out while I work my way through this (I don't know how long it will take, but I predict six weeks or less), just click here and I'll see you on the other side.

But if you're curious to see how whitepaper sausage (gross) gets made, I'll see you next week. I'm kind of excited!
